The post Christmas Day holiday bookings grow, December sales up by 30% appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Brand TD.
More customers than ever chose to book their holiday through a travel agent on Christmas Day this year. Cruise sales on Christmas Day were fivefold compared to last year. As a large home-based travel business Not Just Travel is made up of a diverse range of people from different cultures. Therefore, it is no surprise that it sees bookings happening on Christmas Day every year.
This year was no exception, with the first booking taking place very early on Christmas day morning. Sales throughout December have broken records, with an increase of nearly 30% on the same period last year. Not Just Travel is predicting an even busier final week of the year.
Steve Witt, Co-Founder of Not Just Travel said “With the Boxing Day sales now in full swing, customers with lots of time on their hands and, with it being a payday weekend for many, we can expect clients to be celebrating the end of the year by bagging a booking bargain.”
“Top destinations right now include Spain, the Balearics, Canaries, Greece, and Florida. The trend being for people wanting to escape the cold and heading off for some winter sun,” said Paul Harrison, co-founder. “However, cruise bookings saw a big increase in December, with nearly 20% of bookings being for cruise”.
Not Just Travel are also reporting big sales for other destinations including, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the UK, Italy, Cyprus, Australia, Cape Verde and Lapland. In fact, Lapland is one of the top-selling products this time of year. As demand is high and supply is limited, clients race to book for next year to avoid disappointment.
Heading for the sun is still the number one priority for Not Just Travel clients. With over 51% of bookings being for Winter Sun destinations, 32% being for the summer and nearly 15% looking as far ahead as next winter.
Steve Witt says: “Right now, couples and solo travelers are making the most of the holiday bargains, with just 30% of bookings being made by families. With Christmas being very much a family holiday, the normal trend is for family holiday sales to increase in the new year as operator TV campaigns increase and ‘free child places’ are more prevalent.
“We expect to see the biggest ever increase in holiday sales for Not Just Travel in 2024. With more and more clients wanting the advice, support and quick and easy access to a personal travel consultant that is all part of the standard service.” An image of Steve Witt and Paul Harrison is attached.
